Alain Laboile--La Famille
I just wanted to share with everyone the beautiful series of photographs I discovered on my photoblog, LensCulture this week. It's a collection that really reminds me of some of the work of Sally Mann, who also photographed her children playing, but now I actually think I like Alain Laboile's style even more. The photographs are beautifully composed, but feel very natural, especially with the younger children. It's also interesting comparing his perspective as a father photographing his family, to Sally Mann doing so as a mother. You can view these photographs here. I stumbled upon this series because I was looking through his even more dreamy collection of photographs taken using subjects posing with reflections in water, creating a very unusual effect without the aid of Photoshop. If you want to view these photographs, you can see them here.
